Live edge slabs for tables and builds
Live edge slabs highlight the natural contour of the tree and work best when grain, moisture, and flatness are understood upfront. Ask for measurements, moisture readings, and photos of both faces before you commit. For species references, the Wood Database is a helpful resource.
Quick live edge tips
Kiln load policy
We run large kiln loads only (2000 bd/ft minimum). Slabs must air-dry under cover for a few months before kiln scheduling. Wet slabs tie up the kiln longer, raise energy use, and increase checking, so they are accepted only at a premium when schedules allow.
