Oversized slab cutting in East Texas

Oversized log milling depends on access, log size, and staging space. Call with photos and measurements so we can confirm whether an Alaskan mill setup is possible.

East Texas slab tips

Keep logs shaded and off the soil.
Check moisture content before final sizing.
Inspect end grain for checks and splits.
Plan for stickered stacking after milling.

Kiln load policy

We run large kiln loads only (2000 bd/ft minimum). Wood must air-dry under cover for a few months before kiln scheduling. Wet wood ties up the kiln longer, raises energy use, and increases checking, so it is accepted only at a premium when schedules allow.
